Wehrlein Strikes First in Berlin Battle

Pascal Wehrlein Claims Crucial Pole Position in Berlin as Title Battle Intensifies

Factory Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein secured pole position for the second race of the Berlin E-Prix weekend — a result of particular significance for the German. In Formula E, pole not only offers a prime opportunity to fight for victory but also awards three valuable championship points, which could prove decisive in the title race.

Meanwhile, current championship leader Oliver Rowland has been handed a grid penalty following a collision in the closing stages of Saturday’s race. As a result, the Nissan factory driver will drop five places and start Sunday’s race from eighth on the grid. Rowland also failed to score any points in the first Berlin race, having retired before the finish — a setback that has significantly reduced his lead in the standings and all but eliminated the possibility of securing the title ahead of the London season finale.

It is also worth noting that this marks Wehrlein’s first-ever pole position at his home E-Prix in Berlin. As the reigning world champion and current second-place driver in the standings, this achievement carries both strategic and symbolic importance.
