Alex Dunne Takes First F2 Win of the Season in Baku

Alex Dunne secured victory in the Formula 2 Feature Race in Baku, with Martinius Stenshorne and Dino Beganovic completing the podium.Dunne made a strong start from pole position and maintained the lead for much of the race. Sebastian Montoya, who was due to start seventh, failed to take part after crashing his PREMA car on the way to the starting grid.One of the key moments involved championship leader Nikola Tsolov. A problem during his pit stop caused the Bulgarian to lose several positions, while he later received a five-second penalty for crossing the white line at the pit-lane entry.The race was disrupted after Mari Boya suffered a technical problem, prompting the Safety Car to be deployed. A subsequent multi-car incident led to the red flags, bringing the race to a halt for more than 20 minutes.Following the restart, Dunne regained the lead on lap 17 after overtaking Oliver Goethe. Stenshorne then moved ahead of Beganovic before capitalising on Goethe’s mistake to take second place.Dunne went on to secure his first victory of the season, with Stenshorne finishing second and Beganovic completing the podium after winning the morning Sprint Race.Rafael Camara finished fourth after overtaking Noel Leon on the final straight. The result moved the Brazilian to the top of the Formula 2 championship standings, ahead of Tsolov.
