Beganovic Goes Back-to-Back in Baku as Tsolov Holds F2 Lead

Dino Beganovic won the Formula 2 Sprint Race in Baku, securing his second consecutive victory after triumphing in Madrid. Laurens van Hoepen finished second, while Alex Dunne completed the podium in third.Nikola Tsolov started from pole position after recording the 10th-fastest time in qualifying. The Bulgarian driver made a strong start and retained the lead through the opening laps before being overtaken by Beganovic on lap six. Tsolov’s pace gradually dropped as he struggled with his rear tyres. He was first passed by van Hoepen and Dunne before also losing positions to Rafael Camara and Martinius Stenshorne. The championship leader eventually crossed the finish line in fifth, securing four points.The race was interrupted twice by Safety Car periods. Camara, who had received a 10-second penalty for his first-lap collision with Mari Boya, attempted to take advantage of a late pit stop. However, he was involved in another incident following the restart and finished without points.Beganovic controlled the closing stages to claim victory, while Dunne’s third-place finish allowed him to reduce the gap to Gabriele Mini in the championship standings. Mini himself failed to score points.Despite losing the lead during the race and suffering a decline in pace in the second half, Tsolov managed to retain the top spot in the Formula 2 championship.
