Alonso Spotted Driving Legendary CLK GTR
Formula 1 stars often draw attention through their impressive car collections, but Fernando Alonso has once again raised the bar. In recent days, the two-time World Champion was spotted on the streets of Monaco behind the wheel of one of the rarest cars ever built the road-going Mercedes CLK GTR Strassenversion.
Developed jointly with AMG as a homologation model for endurance racing, the CLK GTR was produced between 1998 and 1999 in a run of just 28 units. Today, its value starts at around €9 million and can reach as much as €15 million for the extremely rare roadster version.
Alonso was driving a silver coupé bearing the number 1414, a clear reference to his iconic racing number 14. Under the hood lies a naturally aspirated V12 producing over 600 horsepower, enabling a 0–100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 320 km/h.
Alonso has previously been seen driving classic Ferraris such as the F40 and Testarossa, and his collection also includes several exclusive Aston Martin models as well as a rare Ford GT. And judging by recent appearances, this is far from the final chapter.
