Alpine:Horner&Ecclestone’s Next Power Move?
Former Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone and ex-Red Bull team principal Christian Horner could be joining forces. They are reportedly preparing to unveil a high-profile sporting venture that may cause a major stir in the world of motorsport.
According to recent sources, both sides are planning to purchase a stake in the Alpine team—estimated to be worth approximately £1.2 billion. Horner, who left Red Bull just days ago, has seen his potential next moves attract widespread attention.
F1 commentator Nelson Valkenburg offered insights into the situation, stating that Horner “harbours aspirations of becoming a team owner. Alpine currently appears to be the most suitable fit. With Ecclestone’s backing, he could acquire ownership in part of the team.”
Recent reports also suggest that Horner held lengthy discussions with Alpine-affiliated executives Luca de Meo and Flavio Briatore. De Meo’s departure from Renault has only added further uncertainty about Alpine’s future.
Despite being 94, Bernie Ecclestone has remained actively involved in Formula 1. He has attended most races during the 2025 season and has recently participated in FIA commission meetings alongside Horner.
