Antonelli Claims Pole in Chaotic Monaco Qualifying

The qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix traditionally served as the defining moment of the weekend, as on the narrow streets of the Principality, starting position often determines the outcome of the race. All efforts from teams and drivers were focused on securing pole position, especially after the FIA’s attempt to artificially complicate strategy through additional pit stops failed to have the desired effect, once again reinforcing the advantage of starting from the front.

The sessions unfolded in the familiar atmosphere of unpredictability in Monaco: red flags, inevitable contact with the barriers, and an extremely tight battle for every fraction of a second. On the soft C5 tyres, drivers continuously improved their lap times, resulting in frequent changes at the top of the timing sheets.

The final stage of qualifying reached a peak of tension. The leading drivers repeatedly set new fastest laps, demonstrating the limit of their performance. However, a dramatic crash by Charles Leclerc in the closing seconds of the session brought an abrupt end to the fight for pole, effectively sealing the final order.

At the conclusion of this highly intense qualifying session, Kimi Antonelli secured pole position his fourth both in his career and in the current season. Max Verstappen will start alongside him on the front row. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will line up on the second row, while Isack Hadjar and George Russell complete the third row of the grid.
