Young Kuwaiti Investor Aims to Bring Caterham Back to Formula1 by 2027
24-year-old entrepreneur Saad Kassis-Mohamed, who has acquired the commercial rights to the Caterham brand, is planning to reintroduce the team to the Formula1 grid under a new name SKM Racing. His investment firm,SKM Capital, is prepared to invest approximately €280 million into the project over the first three years.
The team is currently operating out of a leased technical facility in Silverstone, with an official application to the FIA scheduled for early 2026. Development of the first chassis is expected to be completed by the third quarter of next year.

The company is in active discussions with two power unit manufacturers regarding long-term supply and technical cooperation, with a clear focus on reliability, innovation, and strong corporate governance.
