Citroen Racing Unveils Driver Duo: Vergne and Cassidy
The factory team of the Stellantis group has officially confirmed its entry into the Formula E championship under a new name Citroen Racing. Alongside the rebranding, the team announced its driver line-up for the upcoming season:
Jean-Eric Vergne and Nick Cassidy.
Vergne stands out as one of the most accomplished and respected drivers in the paddock. A former Formula 1 racer, he continues to combine his Formula E career with competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Notably, he remains the only driver in history to have claimed two Formula E titles a record that highlights both his consistency and his value to any team.
Cassidy, representing New Zealand, has firmly established himself as one of the championship’s leading figures in recent years. His résumé includes 10 victories, 20 podium finishes, and back-to-back top-three results in the standings. In 2023, he secured the runner-up position, cementing his reputation as a constant title contender.
With this line-up, Citroen Racing enters the new season with a formidable and balanced driver pairing blending Vergne’s experience and proven track record with Cassidy’s speed and momentum making the team a strong candidate to challenge for victories and championship success.
