Colton Herta Set for F2 Debut with Hitech

The British team Hitech has confirmed the signing of Colton Herta, who will make his debut in Formula 2 in the 2026 season.

The 25-year-old American from California is well-known for his achievements in IndyCar, with 9 victories, 16 pole positions, and 19 podium finishes. In 2024, he finished as the runner-up in the series, and earlier competed in Europe, securing second place in the Spanish Formula 3 championship.

The move to Formula 2 represents an important step for Herta toward obtaining an FIA Super License and a potential debut in Formula 1, where he is already serving as a test driver for Cadillac F1.

Herta commented:

“I am delighted to join Hitech and begin a new phase of my career. Formula 2 provides an excellent opportunity to develop, adapt to European circuits, and move closer to my dream of racing in F1. The team has a strong reputation, and I am confident that together we can achieve great results.”
