Colton Herta Spotted Testing Ahead of Formula 2 Debut
American driver Colton Herta will not only serve as Cadillac F1’s reserve driver next season but will also make his Formula 2 debut with the British team Hitech. This move will help him accumulate the necessary points for a super licence and gain experience on several Formula 1 circuits.
“It’s going to be a challenging task the F2 field is full of very fast drivers,” Herta noted. “I’m still at an early stage of preparation, trying to understand the car’s characteristics and working on the simulator before getting behind the wheel for the first time.”
Meanwhile, photos have surfaced online showing Herta testing an older Formula 2 car at Monza, reportedly during a private session. The test was organized by the Swiss company Kateyama, which provides professional teams and drivers with opportunities to run cars from the GP3, F3, GP2, and F2 categories.
