Lance Stroll remains one of the most talked-about figures in Formula 1. Now in his ninth season in the championship, the Canadian driver has three podium finishes and one pole position to his name, yet he continues to face heavy criticism.
Many believe that Stroll keeps his seat at Aston Martin primarily because of his father, Lawrence Stroll, who owns the team. While Lance has been outqualified by his teammate Fernando Alonso at every round this season, he occasionally delivers solid performances in the races.
Speaking on the Aston Martin podcast, Stroll said he doesn’t take criticism to heart:
“I try not to pay attention to the negativity. I’m surrounded by people I trust, and the opinions that matter are those of the people close to me. There will always be criticism have a couple of good races, and everyone praises you; have a few bad ones, and they start judging you. What’s important is to learn from the tough moments and keep moving forward.”
