Double Trouble:Sainz and Antonelli Penalized After Zandvoort

During a chaotic and eventful race in Zandvoort, several drivers came under the scrutiny of the stewards, receiving penalties for various on-track incidents. Among those penalized were Carlos Sainz and Kimi Antonelli, who were deemed responsible for collisions that had a notable impact on the course of the race.

Carlos Sainz was handed two penalty points for contact with Liam Lawson in the first corner. As a result, his total number of penalty points over the past 12 months has now reached four.

Kimi Antonelli likewise received a two-point penalty for a collision with Charles Leclerc in the third corner. This brings his total to four points as well over the last year.

Such penalties may prove significant in the future, as accumulating 12 penalty points within a 12-month period results in a one-race suspension. Therefore, drivers will need to exercise particular caution during the remainder of the season.
