Drugovich Heads to Andretti for Formula E

Aston Martin Formula 1 reserve driver Felipe Drugovich will continue his career in Formula E next season by joining the Andretti team, reports The Race. The official confirmation of the move is expected in the coming days.

According to sources, the Brazilian will take the seat of Nico Müller, who is expected to move to the Porsche factory team. For Drugovich, this represents an important step in his career, allowing him to transition from a reserve role in Formula 1 to a full-time race seat in a world championship.

Drugovich’s first official outings for Andretti are scheduled for the pre-season tests in Valencia in October. These sessions will give him the opportunity to familiarize himself with the car and build rapport with the team ahead of the season. The new Formula E season is set to begin in December with the São Paulo E-Prix, where the Brazilian will be able to make his debut in front of his home fans.

Earlier, well-known Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso expressed hope that Drugovich would secure a full-time racing seat in Formula 1.Although that has not yet materialized, the move to Andretti will allow the 2022 Formula 2 champion to remain active on the international racing stage and continue developing at the highest level of motorsport.
