Verstappen Victorious in Emilia-Romagna as Piastri Leads Into Europe Leg
The European leg of the Formula 1 season often sees the outcome shaped as early as qualifying, with circuits like Imola (Emilia-Romagna), Monaco, and Spain traditionally playing key roles.
Oscar Piastri entered the first European round of the season as the championship leader, holding a 16-point advantage over teammate Lando Norris, a 32-point lead over Max Verstappen, and 38 points over George Russell.
In a tense and competitive race, it was Red Bull’s Max Verstappen who emerged victorious, securing a crucial win. McLaren’s Lando Norris followed in second place, with teammate Oscar Piastri completing the podium in third.
With the opening European round now complete, the championship heads to Monaco. The Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from May 23 to 25.
