Hamilton and Verstappen Ranked Among World’s Highest-Paid Athletes, According to Forbes
According to the renowned Forbes list of the World’s Highest-Paid Athletes, Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have both secured places among the global elite.
British driver Lewis Hamilton earned a total of $80 million over the past year, placing him joint 22nd alongside Mexican boxer Canelo Álvarez. His income includes $60 million from his racing contract and $20 million from endorsements and investments.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen ranked 24th, earning $78 million—surpassing global football icon Neymar. The bulk of Verstappen’s earnings, $72 million, comes from his contract with Red Bull Racing, while the remaining $6 million is generated through personal sponsorships and merchandise sales.
Forbes' rankings continue to be dominated by footballers and basketball players. At the top of the list is Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, with a staggering income of $275 million. He is followed by basketball player Stephen Curry with $156 million, and heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury, who ranks third with $146 million.
