F1 Movie Wins Oscar for Best Sound
The film F1, which focuses on a fictional Formula One team and the return of veteran driver Sonny Hayes portrayed by Brad Pitt was among the contenders for the prestigious Academy Awards. The film received nominations in four categories, marking a significant achievement for a project centered on motorsport.
At the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, held on the night of March 15–16, the film managed to secure a victory in one of the categories. The Formula One-themed production won the award for Best Sound, highlighting the outstanding work of the sound designers and engineers responsible for recreating the atmosphere and intensity of the racing scenes.
The evening’s top honor, the Best Picture award, was presented to the film Battle by Battle. Nevertheless, the success of F1 became a notable moment for both the film industry and motorsport fans, as racing-themed productions rarely receive recognition at major international film awards.
