Hamilton Takes Pole Ahead of Antonelli
Silverstone is hosting its first Sprint weekend since 2021, with the starting grid for Saturday's Sprint decided in Sprint Qualifying following the event's only practice session.
Lewis Hamilton dominated the opening two qualifying segments on the mandatory Medium tyres before the field switched to the Soft compound for the decisive SQ3 shootout. With only a single flying lap available, every mistake proved costly.
Hamilton delivered a lap of 1:28.376 to claim Sprint pole, beating championship leader Kimi Antonelli by just 0.01 seconds. The result marks the Briton's third career Sprint Qualifying pole and his second at Silverstone.
Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc will start from the second row, while George Russell and Lando Norris secured third-row positions for Saturday's Sprint.
