F1 Teams Hit the Track with Pirelli’s New Tires
The day after the Italian Grand Prix, four teams conducted tests of Pirelli’s 2026 tire prototypes at Monza.
Max Verstappen (in the morning) and Yuki Tsunoda (in the afternoon) tested the RB19 2023 modified to fit the new tires, while Aston Martin and Williams ran their current-season cars Felipe Drugovich drove the AMR25,and Carlos Sainz piloted the FW47. Isaac Hadjar worked with the VCARB01 2024 model.
Due to forecasts of strong winds and possible thunderstorms, the testing schedule was adjusted to allow the teams to complete the program as efficiently as possible and finalize the tire compounds for the next season.
All teams focused on soft compounds:Racing Bulls and Williams tested C4, C5, and C6, while Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin used C3.The program began with fast laps to assess raw speed, followed by long runs to evaluate tire wear.
