F2:Browning Secures Pole in Monza
After ten rounds of the Formula 2 season, championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli had hoped to impress his home crowd in Monza, but qualifying turned into a disappointment his car came to a halt at Parabolica due to transmission issues. Richard Verschoor also endured misfortune, ending his session with a crash at Lesmo.
Qualifying was repeatedly interrupted by incidents: first, Gabriele Minì’s car caught fire, then Kian Shields stopped on track, forcing race control to display multiple red flags. As a result, little time remained for full flying laps.
The fastest time was set by Luke Browning (1:32.390), who secured his first-ever Formula 2 pole position. The British driver, competing for Hitech and part of the Williams Racing program, will start from the front on Sunday. In Saturday’s sprint, pole position will be taken by Sami Meguetounif of Trident, who finished the session in tenth place.
