“Motorsport Must Be More Transparent”: FIA’s Robert Reid Resigns
FIA President’s Advisor Robert Reid Resigns, Cites Lack of Transparency
Robert Reid, the advisor to the President of the FIA, has officially resigned, citing concerns over a lack of transparency within the organization.
As RaceBrief.com recalls, Reid has been serving at the FIA since 2021. In a public statement, the British official expressed dissatisfaction with how key decisions are made behind closed doors, stating that he does not support such a process.
Robert Reid stated: “I accepted this position not for its status, but to serve the members of the FIA. Over time, I encountered several practices I could not agree with. In my opinion, the world of motorsport should operate with greater transparency.”
Reid has called on all clubs and stakeholders affiliated with Formula 1 to demand accountability and transparency from the federation.
The FIA has not yet issued any official statement in response to his resignation.
