Former F1 Drivers Support Le Mans FC
Former Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen became part of an investment group that helped save French football club Le Mans FC from financial collapse. The project also includes Novak Djokovic and Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The club faced bankruptcy in 2013, but with the support of investors it managed to recover and is now close to returning to the top division of French football for the first time since 2010.
Both Massa and Magnussen share strong ties with Le Mans through motorsport. Magnussen has competed in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, while Massa has regularly taken part in events held at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
The initiative was led by Brazilian businessman and amateur racing driver Georgios Frangulis. According to reports, it was through Aryna Sabalenka that he was able to bring Novak Djokovic into the project.
Meanwhile, Magnussen continues preparing for another appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with BMW’s factory team.
