Formula 1 Action Begins in Baku
Today marks the opening day of the Formula 1 World Championship’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix!
According to the Baku City Circuit Operations Company, the day began with Formula 2 drivers taking to the track for initial testing in the early morning hours. At 10:00, the free practice session will see young drivers working on car setups and testing their race strategies. With only three rounds remaining in the season, the battle among the seven championship contenders is expected to be particularly intense.
At 12:30, the spotlight will shift to the Formula 1 drivers. In their first one-hour practice session on Baku’s challenging circuit, they will assess the performance of the Pirelli tires, especially through the narrow 90-degree corners and newly resurfaced sections of the track. The data collected will play a decisive role in shaping the teams’ race strategies.
In the afternoon, Formula 2 drivers will return at 14:00 for the qualifying session, which will determine the grid positions for both the sprint and the feature race. This will be followed at 16:00 by the second free practice session for the Formula 1 drivers, as they continue their work from the morning and push the limits of speed even further.
The evening will conclude with a major musical performance for the fans. Anyma, one of the most futuristic names in electronic music, will take the stage at the Baku Crystal Hall as part of the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2025 program. His show will offer a unique audiovisual experience that blurs the line between reality and imagination, combining technology, light, and sound into an unforgettable journey. Notably, Anyma’s performances have already captivated millions at some of the world’s most prestigious festivals, including Tomorrowland and Coachella.
