Formula 1 Debuts F1 Grid Gigs Show Ahead of US Grand Prix

Ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, a new show, F1 Grid Gigs, will make its debut, combining music and motorsport.

The concept was inspired by the success of the February presentation celebrating the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 at London’s The O2 Arena, which attracted an audience of 7.5 million viewers. The show will feature both global stars and local artists, making the pre-race period engaging for fans in the stands as well as those watching from home.

The choice of the Circuit of the Americas is deliberate, as Austin is considered a musical capital. The show will be opened by local country singer and actor Drake Milligan, known for his portrayal of young Elvis Presley in the mini-series about Sun Records. His music videos have amassed millions of views.

Milligan’s performance will take place just before the cars leave the pit lane and head to the starting grid. The next F1 Grid Gigs will be held at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Emily Preiser, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1: “F1 Grid Gigs will make the start of the race weekend even more exciting, allowing fans to experience the thrill and atmosphere of Formula 1 before the race even begins.”
