Formula One May Trim Calendar to 22 Races

Formula One does not plan to seek replacement venues if the April rounds, the Bahrain Grand Prix and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, are cancelled. According to Sky News, a final decision regarding these races must be made no later than March 20.

If the events at the Bahrain International Circuit and the Jeddah Corniche Circuit do not take place, the championship calendar would be reduced from 24 to 22 races. In that case, there would be an almost five-week gap between the Japanese Grand Prix and the Miami Grand Prix.

Holding additional rounds at the Imola Circuit or the Algarve International Circuit is not being considered due to insufficient preparation time. Likewise, the championship is not planning to stage a second consecutive race weekend at the Suzuka Circuit.
