Fornaroli Stuns the Grid with First F2 Win!
Sprint Race Concludes at Formula 2 British Grand Prix
The sprint race of the Formula 2 British Grand Prix has concluded, with Leonardo Fornaroli emerging as the standout performer.
Dino Beganovic, a driver for the Hitech team, started the race from third position but experienced technical issues with his car. As a result, he was forced to start the race from the back of the grid.
Championship leader Richard Verschoor had an unfortunate start, dropping down to 10th position, closely followed by his main rival Alex Dunne.
Since only the top eight finishers receive points in the sprint race, a fierce battle ensued for the 8th place. Championship contender Arvid Lindblad and his fellow driver Luke Browning collided while fighting for a single point.
Despite his poor start, Leonardo Fornaroli went on to win the race — marking his first-ever victory in Formula 2. Sebastian Montoya finished in second place, while Roman Stanek, who came third, congratulated his teammate Fornaroli on the win.
This double podium finish secured a one-two result for the Invicta Racing team in this round.Verschoor managed to finish eighth, while Alex Dunne was forced to retire from the race. As a result, Verschoor extended his lead in the championship standings by one more point, increasing his overall advantage to 25 points.
