Hamilton’s €70M Impact

Despite Ferrari’s underwhelming on-track performance this season, the company’s financial results continue to improve. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, this growth is largely attributed to the arrival of Lewis Hamilton, even though the seven-time world champion has yet to finish on the podium after 14 rounds of the championship.

Official figures show that Ferrari recorded a net profit of €873 million in the first half of 2025 a 9% increase compared to the previous year. Formula 1 played a key role in this, contributing through sponsorship agreements, commercial partnerships, and branding on the cars. Additional prize money also came in following the team’s second-place finish in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.

Hamilton’s presence in the team has significantly boosted interest from partners. According to data from StageUp, sponsorship revenues have increased by approximately €50 million. The title sponsorship deal with HP Inc. alone is estimated to be worth between €80 and €90 million a figure independent of on-track performance. Merchandise sales have also surged globally.

In total, Gazzetta estimates that Hamilton's involvement is generating around €70 million annually for Ferrari. Given his reported salary of around €40 million, the investment appears financially sound even without race wins.

Giovanni Palazzi, President of StageUp, attributes this commercial growth to Hamilton’s personal brand:

“He is more than just a driver he’s a motorsport icon. His image resonates with a global audience and bridges the worlds of sport, fashion, and pop culture. Combined with the legendary Ferrari name, this makes for an exceptionally powerful commercial combination.”

However, Palazzi also cautions that if the team's sporting results do not improve, it could eventually impact both fan enthusiasm and commercial interest.
