Hollywood Spotlights Adrian Newey

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will serve as executive producers of the documentary Turbulence: The Greatest Mind in F1, dedicated to the legendary engineer Adrian Newey. The project is being developed by The Whisper Group and Mark Stewart Productions.

The film will chronicle the career of a man whose cars have secured 14 Constructors’ Championships and delivered 12 Drivers’ titles. The documentary team has received exclusive access to the Aston Martin headquarters to capture Newey’s workflow and his preparations for the new technical regulations among the most significant rule changes in the sport’s history.

Turbulence will combine contemporary footage with key moments from the engineer’s past, exploring themes of ambition, dedication, adversity, and resilience. Newey notes that he agreed to participate in the project after the remarkable response to his 2017 autobiography, which inspired many readers with its insights into race car design and the close relationship between an engineer and his drivers.

Ben Affleck emphasizes that this documentary goes far beyond motorsport it is a story about a man driven by ideas, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
