Jonathan Wheatley Exits Audi F1 Team

Audi has officially announced that Jonathan Wheatley has stepped down from his position as team principal for “personal reasons.” The statement highlighted his contributions to the project and extended best wishes for his future endeavors.

Since 2024, Audi’s Formula 1 project has been led by Mattia Binotto, who has temporarily assumed the responsibilities of team principal. The final management structure will be announced at a later date, while Audi’s objective remains unchanged to continue developing and ultimately contend for championships by 2030.

Wheatley is reportedly considered a potential candidate to succeed Adrian Newey at Aston Martin, although the British team has denied these reports.
