Leclerc Dreams of Le Mans Debut
Robert Kubica’s triumph at the 24 Hours of Le Mans became one of the most remarkable milestones of the Polish driver’s career, comparable in significance to his victory at the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. As the winner of the iconic endurance race, Kubica was among the distinguished guests at the FIA Gala Evening in Tashkent.
“Le Mans is an extreme challenge, and this result would not have been possible without Ferrari and my team-mates,” Kubica said. “I never imagined that my racing career would last this long, but endurance racing has become a new challenge and a strong source of motivation for me.” Kubica added that he spent a significant portion of the race behind the wheel of the Ferrari hypercar, with the final hours proving to be the most demanding.
Ferrari was also represented at the ceremony by Charles Leclerc, who described winning in a Ferrari as a truly special achievement. The Monegasque driver admitted that he dreams of one day competing at Le Mans, provided he can combine participation in the endurance classic with his Formula 1 commitments.
It is also worth noting that Kubica joined his AF Corse team-mates on stage, as car No. 83 concluded the season as championship runners-up.
