Max Masters Vegas,Keeps Championship Dream Alive
Max Verstappen secured a crucial victory in Las Vegas, keeping himself firmly in the title hunt. The four-time world champion delivered one of his most assured performances of the season.
Max Verstappen: “The race was excellent. Before the start, we had little understanding of how the tyres would behave, and throughout the early laps everyone was trying to find a rhythm especially during the first stint. But today everything came together: the car finally worked with the tyres the way we needed it to, allowing me to attack more aggressively than usual.
That gave us strong pace and allowed us to extend the first stint. Splitting the race distance in half turned out to be the perfect strategy. By the final laps,I could push without worrying about tyre wear and build a comfortable gap.
It is still too early to think about the title the deficit remains significant. But we will fight to the end and aim to extract the maximum from the final two races. After Abu Dhabi, we will see where we end up.
I am proud of the team: the season has been mixed, with difficult periods and brilliant moments. We have learned a lot and must start next year more confidently. But even now we are enjoying the work we are doing.
This is already my 69th victory. But I prefer the number 169 so it seems I will be staying in Formula 1 for quite a while!”
