Max Verstappen Delighted:“Pole Position Feels Fantastic!”

Max Verstappen Storms to Italian GP Pole with Monza Lap Record

Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Italian Grand Prix in dominant fashion, breaking the outright lap record at Monza with a blistering 1:18.792 an average speed of 264.68 km/h, the fastest lap in Formula 1 history at the legendary circuit.

After qualifying, the Red Bull Racing driver revealed that crucial last-minute setup changes gave him the confidence to push to the limit. “The car has been quick all weekend, and pole is a fantastic result,” Verstappen said. “We made some important adjustments before qualifying, which allowed me to brake harder and attack the corners more aggressively. The race will be more difficult, but we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”

Yuki Tsunoda also impressed, reaching Q3 at Monza for the first time in his career and posting the tenth-fastest lap. Thanks to Lewis Hamilton’s grid penalty, the Japanese driver will move up to ninth on the starting grid. “I’m happy with our progress step by step we’re getting quicker,” Tsunoda commented. “It’s a shame I went out first in Q3 and missed the slipstream, which is so important here. Still, the team did a fantastic job, and I just need to keep working on the car’s balance. Tomorrow will be tough, but I feel confident.”
