McLaren Celebrates 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco
The upcoming Monaco Grand Prix will mark a historic milestone for McLaren, as the Woking-based team prepares to contest its 1,000th Formula 1 World Championship race. The legendary British outfit is second only to Ferrari in terms of total Grand Prix starts.
To commemorate the occasion, McLaren will unveil a special anniversary livery for the MCL40. The team's signature papaya color will be complemented by elegant anthracite accents, while the design itself pays tribute to McLaren's rich heritage, highlighting some of its greatest achievements from race victories and world championships to the coveted Triple Crown and a record-breaking pit stop. The drivers' race suits will also feature the commemorative design.
The celebrations will continue on June 4 with a special ceremony on the Monaco Grand Prix starting grid. The event will be attended by team leadership, drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, as well as former McLaren race winners from across the team's illustrious Formula 1 history. A historic M2B, the car that marked McLaren's debut in the World Championship, will also be displayed alongside the current MCL40.
