McLaren Could Seal Constructors’ Title in Baku
McLaren continues to assert its dominance in the 2025 season and is now on the verge of securing an early championship triumph.
After sixteen rounds, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have already collected 12 victories an impressive tally that underlines the strength and consistency of the Woking-based team. With such commanding form, McLaren leads the Constructors’ Championship and could clinch the title as early as the next Grand Prix in Azerbaijan.
At present, the team holds a 337-point advantage over Ferrari. Following the race in Baku, only 346 points will remain in play, including sprint events. To secure the championship early, McLaren must outscore the Scuderia by at least 9 points. In addition, the team must avoid losing more than 12 points to Mercedes and more than 33 points to Red Bull Racing.
Should these conditions be met, McLaren will be officially crowned Constructors’ Champion in Azerbaijan with seven races still to go. This achievement would surpass the record set by Red Bull Racing in 2023, when the team sealed the title with six rounds remaining.
Thus, McLaren stands poised not only to reaffirm its undisputed supremacy in the current season but also to etch its name into Formula 1 history with a new benchmark for the earliest title victory. For fans, it would mark the dawn of a new golden era for the team, while for rivals it presents a formidable challenge that must be answered in the seasons to come.
