Mercedes Unveils W17
Mercedes has unveiled the first images of its 2026 challenger, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W17 E Performance. Designed in accordance with the new technical regulations, the car is more compact, narrower, and lighter than its predecessor.
The W17 features active aerodynamics with movable front and rear wings, along with a hybrid power unit delivering an almost equal balance between electric and internal combustion power. The engine runs on advanced sustainable fuels developed in collaboration with Petronas.
The car also debuts an updated livery: the signature Petronas green line emphasizes speed and precision, blending Mercedes’ iconic silver with the team’s deep black color scheme. The design is further enhanced by AMG-inspired elements and the three-pointed star motif.
Toto Wolff stated that the W17 is the result of extensive work by the teams in Brackley and Brixworth and represents Mercedes’ first step toward the major changes coming to Formula 1 in 2026.
