Montoya Impressed by Formula E

Juan Pablo Montoya, who had previously shown limited interest in Formula E, revised his opinion after attending a race in Madrid with his son, who competes in Formula 2. He stated that he found the qualifying session particularly engaging, and described the format as well suited to shorter circuits. He also highlighted the impressive acceleration of the electric cars and expressed interest in the upcoming GEN4 generation.

Montoya acknowledged that the series differs significantly from the engine-driven racing he is accustomed to; however, he noted that the races remain exciting and well attended. The close competition and frequent on-track contact did not surprise him, as he himself raced in a similar style.

He added that he is unlikely to attend Formula E events regularly next year due to his professional commitments and his involvement in his son’s career, preferring to spend his limited free time relaxing, often by playing golf.

Meanwhile, the presentation of the new-generation Formula E cars will take place at Circuit Paul Ricard, with the next rounds of the championship scheduled in Berlin.
