Opel Signs 2023 Formula 2 Champion Theo Pourchaire for Formula E Debut

Opel has announced 2023 Formula 2 champion Theo Pourchaire as the first driver to join its factory Formula E programme ahead of the manufacturer's debut in the all-electric championship's new GEN4 era.Since securing the Formula 2 title, the French driver has competed in IndyCar and endurance racing, while also serving as a reserve driver for Alfa Romeo Sauber in Formula 1. He currently works as a development driver for Mercedes-AMG Formula One Team. Earlier this year, Pourchaire also took part in Formula E testing, impressing with a second-place finish during the rookie practice session in Miami.The 22-year-old described the move as an important milestone in his career, adding that the new all-wheel-drive GEN4 cars are a perfect fit for his driving style. He also said he is determined to continue developing as a driver and help Opel achieve success in Formula E.
