Red Bull Powertrains Powers Up with Fresh Leadership

Red Bull Powertrains, established in 2021, strategically recruited a number of key personnel from both Honda and Mercedes in order to develop Red Bull’s inaugural power unit for the 2026 Formula 1 season. This initiative was undertaken under the leadership of Christian Horner. In light of his recent departure, a revised management structure is expected to be implemented.

It is anticipated that Laurent Mekies, who has succeeded Horner at Red Bull Racing, will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer.

The role of Head of Red Bull Powertrains is expected to be assigned to Ben Hodgkinson, a former Mercedes engineer. Hodgkinson, who has thus far held the position of Technical Director at Red Bull Powertrains, is now poised to take overall leadership of the power unit division.
