Red Bull’s RB17:The Hypercar That Outruns F1
During simulator testing of the RB17 hypercar, Red Bull engineers reached a surprising conclusion: the vehicle outperformed the current RB21 Formula 1 car. This advantage was achieved through a combination of exceptional aerodynamics, a powerful naturally aspirated engine, and a remarkably low weight under 900 kilograms.
Rob Gray,Technical Director of Red Bull Advanced Technologies, commented on the findings: "On the simulator, the RB17 shows greater performance than our current Formula1 car.For example, at Spa, it completes a lap in 1 minute and 38 seconds approximately two seconds quicker than this season’s pole time."
Production of the RB17 will be strictly limited to just 50 units, with significant restrictions for owners. Notably, the vehicle is not road-legal, and due to safety considerations, engineers have also imposed an artificial limit on top speed.
