Rising Star Camara Steps Up to Formula 2
Raphael Camara secured the Formula 3 title early by winning the Sunday race in Hungary. The Brazilian driver, who is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, will be promoted to Formula 2 in 2026, as confirmed by Jerome d’Ambrosio, head of Scuderia Ferrari’s junior program.
Jerome d’Ambrosio: “We could not have expected more from Raphaël. He began the season confidently and demonstrated resilience under the most challenging conditions a perfect example being the race in Hungary, held on a wet and slippery track. Despite the high risk of error,he managed the situation skillfully, choosing the optimal moments to attack and maintaining his advantage over his rivals.
My words may sound strict, but when it comes to a talent like Raphael, such results are exactly what we expect. Our role is to provide him with the best possible environment so that he can fully realize his potential.
Raphaël deserves a well-earned rest ahead of the Monza round. He will travel to Brazil to spend time with his family before beginning preparations for the new season. Nevertheless, it remains important for him to finish this year strongly.
The next step in Camara’s career is the move to Formula2.It is a significant challenge, and we must prepare as thoroughly as possible.”
