Rowland Triumphs in Monaco
Electric Thrills in Monte Carlo:Rowland Triumphs at the Monaco e‑Prix
The Formula E round in Monaco was contested on the full Grand Prix circuit (3.3 km, 29 laps), with mandatory fast-charging pit stops known as "Pit Boost." Pole position went to 20-year-old Taylor Barnard (McLaren), but his hopes for victory faded quickly — first with an overtake by Oliver Rowland (Nissan), and later due to contact with Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche).
Barnard led the field off the line, followed closely by Rowland, while Jake Dennis (Andretti) and Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) soon entered the fight for podium positions. A collision between Edoardo Mortara and António Félix da Costa brought out local yellow flags, but a safety car was not required.
Following the restart, Rowland overtook Barnard and strategically regained the lead after activating Attack Mode and completing his Pit Boost.
Nico Müller (Andretti) briefly emerged as a surprise leader after the first wave of pit stops, but his energy levels quickly depleted. By the final laps, Rowland had reclaimed control and cruised to his third win of the season. De Vries secured second place, delivering Mahindra its first podium in over a year. Dennis completed the top three despite receiving a five-second time penalty.
With this victory, Rowland extended his lead in the Drivers' Championship to 94 points. He is now followed by Wehrlein, da Costa, Barnard, and de Vries.
