Russell:Hamilton’s Ferrari Move Gave Mercedes a Fresh Boost

27-year-old Mercedes driver George Russell has expressed the view that the departure of seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton to the Italian team Ferrari has had a positive impact on the German outfit.

“There’s definitely a different atmosphere within the team it’s noticeable both in our environment and in how we approach things,” Russell admitted in an interview with Sportskeeda. “We started the season fairly strongly and delivered some solid results, but we've recently encountered a difficult patch.”

“Still, I’m confident that we can recover quickly and return to fighting at the front. Any change especially within a large organization inevitably brings both benefits and challenges.”

The British driver also emphasized that the change has been beneficial for all parties involved: “For Lewis, it’s a new chapter and a chance to explore a different side of his career. And for us, it’s a fresh start a moment that brings renewed energy and motivation. Sometimes, to move forward and make real progress, you have to break out of established patterns and look at things from a new perspective.”
