Ferrari Honors Carlos Sainz with Gift of His 2022 Race-Winning F1 Car

Ferrari has paid tribute to Carlos Sainz by gifting him the F1-75 the very car in which he claimed his first-ever Formula 1 victory. The gesture, reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, marks a heartfelt farewell from the Italian team to their departing driver.

This symbolic gift continues a proud Ferrari tradition of honoring former champions and key drivers. In the past, the Scuderia has extended similar tributes to racing legends such as Fernando Alonso now with Aston Martin and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, both of whom received iconic Ferrari machinery from their racing tenures.

Sainz's breakthrough win came at the 2022 British Grand Prix, where he drove the F1-75 to a memorable maiden victory. At the close of the 2024 season, the Spanish driver returned to Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit to take part in farewell laps, joined by his father, rally legend Carlos Sainz Sr.

Having spent four seasons with the Scuderia from 2021 to 2024,Sainz now prepares to begin a new chapter with Williams. His move to the British team was confirmed during the summer of 2024. In turn, his seat at Ferrari will be taken by none other than seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who joins the Maranello-based team in 2025.
