Mercedes Experiences Decline in Competitiveness Following Strong Early Season Performance
In recent weeks, the Mercedes team has experienced a downturn in performance after a promising start to the season. The team secured four podium finishes during the initial phase of the campaign and consistently demonstrated strong results across the first six races.
At the most recent Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps, Mercedes recorded the fourth-fastest car. However, following qualifying, driver George Russell expressed concern over the team’s increasing gap to the leading trio.
Subsequent to the Belgian Grand Prix, an emergency meeting was convened at Mercedes’ Brackley headquarters. The purpose of the meeting was to address the significant decline in the team’s competitiveness and to strategize corrective measures aimed at restoring performance levels.
