Stoffel Vandoorne Signs with Jaguar Racing as Reserve Driver

Stoffel Vandoorne is widely recognized as one of the most versatile drivers of his generation. Throughout his career, the Belgian has demonstrated exceptional talent across a broad spectrum of motorsport disciplines from Formula 1 to endurance racing, where he competed for the factory Peugeot team at the wheel of a modern hypercar. Owing to his adaptability and consistently high level of performance, Vandoorne has established himself as a highly accomplished professional, capable of excelling in virtually any type of racing machinery.

The 2022 season marked a particularly significant milestone in his career, as he secured the FIA Formula E World Championship title while representing Mercedes. Following the German manufacturer’s withdrawal from the series, Vandoorne continued to compete in the all-electric championship with several other teams. During the most recent season, he raced for Maserati, achieving a notable victory at the Tokyo E-Prix, a result that further underscored his skill, determination, and competitive spirit.

At the age of 33, Vandoorne now embarks on a new phase of his career, having signed with Jaguar Racing. In his new role, he will serve as the team’s reserve driver, providing valuable support to the primary drivers Mitch Evans and Antonio Felix da Costa in both car development and simulator operations. Additionally, Tom Dillmann continues to contribute to the Jaguar programme as a test and simulator driver, assisting in the team’s ongoing technical and performance development.

With this appointment, the Belgian driver remains an integral part of the Formula E paddock, joining a competitive and ambitious organisation consistently striving for podium finishes and championship success.
