Tashkent Targets F1 Grand Prix

Formula 1 continues to expand its global reach, with an increasing number of countries eager to host a prestigious round of the World Championship. As Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali has repeatedly emphasized, interest is coming from nations across the globe from South Korea and Thailand to Germany, Turkey, and South Africa. Recently, Uzbekistan has joined this growing list.

According to British journalist Joe Saward, a delegation from Uzbekistan attended the Singapore Grand Prix, where they held initial discussions regarding the potential inclusion of the country in a future Formula 1 calendar.

Sport in Uzbekistan is currently on the rise the national football team has qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in its history, set to take place in 2026, and this December, Tashkent will host the FIA Prize Giving Gala and the election of the new FIA President.
