Trident to Field New Driver Line-Up in Baku

Trident has officially announced the early termination of its collaboration with Max Esterson and Sami Meguetounif.New drivers are expected to take the wheel for the upcoming round in Baku.

“By mutual agreement, we have decided to part ways before the end of the season,” the Italian team stated. “Thank you, Sami and Max, for your dedication.It has been a pleasure working with you, and we wish you all the best in the future.”

In the current championship, Trident sits at the bottom of the Formula 2 teams’ standings with only two points, both scored by Meguetounif. In the drivers’ classification, he is ranked 19th, while Esterson holds 21st place.The American driver admitted the season had fallen short of expectations and emphasized that his main goal is to return to Formula 2 in 2026.

According to Formula Scout, potential replacements could come from Formula 3: 19-year-old Norwegian Martinius Stenshorne, a member of the McLaren academy, and 20-year-old Dutchman Laurens van Hoepen.
