Vettel Considers F1 Comeback

Recently, Sebastian Vettel appeared on a sports program aired by the German television channel ZDF,where the main topic of discussion was Germany's participation in the international sailing league SailGP. The four-time Formula1 World Champion joined the conversation alongside other representatives of the project understandably so, as he is one of the investors in the German team.

During the discussion, the topic of Formula1 also came up.Although Vettel ended his racing career back in 2022,he did not rule out the possibility of returning to the sport in some capacity. “I will not be getting back behind the wheel that chapter is closed,” Vettel stated. “However, I wouldn’t rule out returning in a different role one day. At the moment, though, I’m quite content with my life and have plenty to keep me occupied.”

With a light-hearted smile, he added: “I really enjoy spending time with my children and someone has to drive the tractor! So, we’ll see what the future holds.”

Vettel’s interest in agriculture is not incidental; in recent years, he has been actively involved in ecological initiatives and developing sustainable farming projects.

When asked about the rumors linking him to Porsche’s factory team in the World Endurance Championship(WEC), Vettel commented: “I had the chance to test a WEC car it was a genuinely interesting experience. I enjoyed it, but things haven’t progressed beyond that for now. That said, there’s still time, and I’m in no rush to make any decisions.”

As for his mention of a possible return to Formula1 in another role, many interpreted it as a subtle hint at a future leadership position. The contract of Red Bull’s long-time motorsport advisor,Helmut Marko, is set to expire in 2026,and Marko himself has previously expressed that he considers Vettel an ideal successor.
