Zak Brown Shines in Monterey:Podiums, Passion, and the Spirit of Racing
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, together with engineers and mechanics from McLaren and United Autosports, took part in the prestigious Monterey Reunion historic racing festival at the iconic Laguna Seca circuit in California and turned the weekend into a true celebration of motorsport.
One of the festival’s highlights was the inclusion for the first time of races featuring legendary cars from the American IROC series. Brown made his debut behind the wheel of a recently acquired 1977 Chevrolet Camaro from his personal collection and immediately secured a podium finish.
“What an incredible weekend!” Brown wrote on social media. “Third place in the Jaguar XJR-10, another podium in IROC driving the Camaro, and although the race in the Porsche 935 ended early while I was running fourth, the emotions throughout the weekend were unforgettable. Huge thanks to the entire McLaren Racing and United Autosports crews for their fantastic work and support.”
The weekend concluded on a high note, as the team was honored with the prestigious Spirit of Monterey award recognizing their contribution to the spirit and heritage of the festival.
